Jude Schmidt Custom Construction has been building custom energy efficient homes since 1976. We have built a wide range of homes from starter homes to elaborate custom homes. All of our projects, regardless of size, get the attention to detail, quality and energy efficiency that has made us a leader in McHenry County. Jude Schmidt Custom Construction will build on your lot or will help you in finding a lot that fits you needs. We also have single family lots available in the Parkrise Estates Subdivision by the Indian Oaks Park in Marengo. We have many plans for you to pick from or we will build from your blueprint. If you would prefer we can also help with the design of a custom home that fits your exact needs. We use state of the art building techniques to ensure that every home we build will give our customer the best most comfortable living space possible. Every home is built with energy efficiency in mind. 2x6 walls, energy heel trusses and high R value insulation make every Jude Schmidt Custom Construction home comfortable and affordable to live in. In 1986 we were recognized by the Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) with a third place award for most energy efficient home. Our entry was a 4,302 square foot super insulated air envelope home that was built in Cary Illinois. The house had a total heating cost of $250.00 for one year! Of equal importance to the energy savings is how comfortable these houses are. The owner of this house is more impressed with the fact that while a winter storm was raging outside, he was sitting reading a book right next to a window, totally unaware of the storm outside. With any construction project communication is paramount. It is our goal to make your project as stress free as possible, and not being able to reach your builder is extremely stressful, but easily avoided.
