Structural Insulated Panel Buildings

Jude Schmidt Custom Construction, Inc. & EPS offer Solid Core Panels or SIP's (Structural Insulated Panels) for building and roof systems. These panels consist of a ridged foam insulation with OSB or plywood laminated to each side. This type of construction has slightly higher material cost but offers lower on site labor costs. Some of the advantages are:

• Solid insulation doesn't allow air movement and prevents air infiltration.
• The lack of air infiltration also prevents dust and allergens from entering the house.
• Improved acoustic and sound control.
• Whole wall R-Values are 50% higher than many conventional stick built walls.
• Larger clear spans can be achieved.
• The rigid insulation doesn't accept water, batt insulation absorbs water.
